This project was especially rewarding for the GreenRose Design Build team, offering a rare opportunity to unlock the full potential of a vaulted space. One of the most meaningful aspects was incorporating original beams dating back to circa 1755 into the design—an element rich with history and character.
While the room featured a vaulted ceiling, it lacked the visual presence to truly stand out. To address this, we partnered with an antique wood specialist to carefully mill original beams, preserving their integrity while giving them new life. The reclaimed wood was then used to wrap the newly installed structural beams.
The transformation is striking. What was once a plain interior now exudes warmth, depth, and authenticity. Even more rewarding was the ability to repurpose this historic timber within the original home—honoring the past while elevating the space for modern living.
